Lockers And Desks To Be Emptied

Perkins Local School students’ lockers and desks in the district’s four buildings and locker rooms will be emptied and the belongings returned to students in a process staggered over the next few weeks.

Perkins High School and Briar Middle School students’ bagged belongings will be distributed to students and parents from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 13, 14, and 15. Parents and students do not need to schedule a time to pick up their belongings and should just come between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

For Briar students, there will be a grab-and-go system in the rear of Briar outside the multi-purpose room. Briar student-athletes who have belongings in locker rooms will be able to access their lockers and remove belongings when they pick up the personal property from their main lockers. 

For PHS students, there will be a grab-and-go system in the rear of PHS similar to the district’s lunch distribution. 

Meanwhile, the belongings of students at
Furry Elementary and Meadowlawn Intermediate Schools will be bagged and prepared for pick up by parents and guardians during the week of May 18.

Families will be contacted by the office staff at Furry and Meadowlawn to schedule times for them to come to the buildings to pick up the belongings.

The belongings of student lockers at Briar and PHS will be emptied from the lockers and bagged by the district’s custodial crew, who will wear masks and gloves. The belongings of students at Furry and Meadowlawn will be emptied from lockers and desks by teachers, staff, and custodians. 

All student property will be bagged with the students’ names. All books and other school property will be returned to the proper classroom.
