PHS Fall Play 2020The Perkins High School Drama Club is adding a twist to a familiar tale for the 2020 fall play.

“It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” is based on the classic holiday movie staged as a live radio broadcast. Actors portray numerous characters, and sound effects are done through Foley artists.

Senior Logan Davis plays lead character George Bailey, who has spent his entire life giving of himself to the people of Bedford Falls. He has always longed to travel but never had the opportunity in order to prevent the rich yet stingy Mr. Potter, played by senior Chris Mobley, from taking over the entire town.

On Christmas Eve, circumstances challenge George, and he contemplates that the world might be better without him. Senior Julia Stanfield plays Mary, George’s wife, and junior Brett Phenicie plays the gentle guardian angel who helps show George how things might be without him.

The play opens at 7 p.m. Thursday in the PHS Auditorium, and continues with performances at 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Due to the pandemic, the number of tickets available for each performance is limited.

Patrons are asked to observe health guidelines, including wearing facial coverings and social distancing. If you have symptoms, please do not attend the play. The cast and crew also ask that patrons not congregate before or after the performances.

Tickets for the performances can be purchased online here.
