Perkins Schools Ask Parents For Daily Health Update
Posted on 08/27/2020
Student Submit buttonThe health and wellness of every Perkins Schools student will be monitored each day when school begins. The school district is asking that parents and guardians help to ensure the safety and well-being of our school family by sending healthy children to school.

The practice begins at home on Monday, Aug. 31, the first day of school.

Perkins Schools asks that every day parents and guardians take the temperature of their students and evaluate them for any symptoms – cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, body aches, headache, loss of smell or taste, nausea, and diarrhea – of COVID.

District administrators ask parents and guardians to report that information to the school district each day. To do so, parents can access their PowerSchool Parent Accounts, and click the blue Submit Student-Assessment button. Parents should complete the three-question assessment:

• Today’s Date
• What Is Your Temperature
• Are You Experiencing Any Symptoms

If a parent answers “yes” to the third question, they will be asked what symptoms their child is experiencing.

The information will be submitted to the school district and monitored by the district’s nursing staff. Only the school nurses will have access to the information to protect personal health data of students.

Parents of students in the Online-Only curriculum are NOT required to enter the information.

This information could be used for follow-up or contact tracing in the event a student, teacher, or staff member tests positive for the coronavirus.
