Strategic Planning

Perkins Schools Seek Stakeholder Input
Posted on 09/23/2019

The Perkins Local School District will be developing a strategic plan to guide the district into the future. We are inviting you – our stakeholders – to help us develop this plan by participating in a series of three listening sessions.

The result of this collaborative process will be a mission statement that we will rally behind and a plan that will guide us for the years ahead.
Please plan on joining us – we want your input.

Listening Session 1

Monday, Oct. 14, 7-9 a.m.

Room 301, Perkins High School

The first meeting is a highly interactive session. We will share the district’s mission statement, to which all of the strategic planning work will be anchored, and ask you to share your vision for the future of the district.

You will then be asked to assess the district, as it is now, through a facilitated conversation. The session will conclude after you are given the opportunity to let us know what you believe the district should identify as its strategic priorities.

Listening Session 2

Monday, Oct. 28, 7-9 a.m.

Room 301, Perkins High School

Participants are invited back to see the results of the initial listening session incorporated with other input from students, teachers, and our district leadership team, resulting in a list of strategic priorities and draft goal statements.

Participants will be presented with the goal areas for the district and asked to provide their feedback to create objectives in support of each of these goals.

Listening Session 3

Monday, Nov. 11, 7-9 a.m.

Room 301, Perkins High School

In this final listening session, stakeholders will review a proposed draft of the strategic plan (goals, objectives, and strategies) that reflects their input and the ongoing work of the district leadership team. Participants in this meeting will be asked to brainstorm how external stakeholders can help support the implementation of this plan.

Participants will also be invited to share their ideas on how to communicate the plan to the full community.

The district hopes that participants can attend all three of the listening sessions.

Refreshments and sign-in will take place 7-7:30 a.m. for each of the sessions, and the sessions will begin at 7:30 a.m.

The first session may run slightly longer than 9 a.m. The last two sessions will conclude by 9 a.m.
