Student-Athlete Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Please be advised, a student-athlete who was participating last week in summer workouts in the gymnasium at Perkins High School has tested positive for the coronavirus. The results of the test were reported to Perkins School District administration on Monday.

The student-athlete currently is quarantined, per standards set by healthcare professionals.
Meantime, the PHS gymnasium is closed and will be sanitized and cleaned today and Tuesday.

Practices inside the facility have been temporarily canceled until Wednesday morning.

Parents are asked to monitor the health of their student-athletes over the next few days.

If parents notice any symptoms of COVID-19, they should contact the Erie County Board of Health and their student’s coaches as soon as possible.

Symptoms of COVID include:
• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• Loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
