Perkins Football Player Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Parents and Guardians:

Please be advised: A member of the Perkins High School varsity football squad has tested positive for the coronavirus. The player was tested for the virus on Monday and his results were returned on Wednesday.

After consulting with the Erie County Department of Health, the Perkins Local School District Administration has suspended the team’s practices for one week due to it being a contact sport. The team can resume practices on Thursday, July 30.

Parents and guardians of football team members are asked to monitor their student-athletes for symptoms of COVID-19.

Symptoms of COVID include:
• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• Loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
